We ask whether social capital contributes to the labour market disadvantages of descendants of immigrants.
Examining access to, use of, and returns to social capital, we find that it is not the main driver of disadvantage.

Excited to share my latest published research article, which is also the last part of my PhD thesis! Migrant women rely more heavily on their formal education than on social contacts in locating work, whereas contacts assist low-educated migrant men in securing work. For more: 10.33134/njmr.664

In "Immigrant–native pay gap driven by lack of access to high-paying jobs", we show that sorting of immigrant-background workers into lower-paying jobs on average accounts for about 4/5th of immigrant–native earnings difference

I am happy to share that I received a grant from the Swedish Research Council for a three-year project (4.8 SEK). We will examine how workplace and neighbourhood segregation shape the employment trajectories of refugees and their children in Sweden.
