Seriously now, as soon as announced, it looked like this was a poor choice. I agree that this does not look like ill intent but rather ineptitude and/or a fear to ever do anything controversial (which is a form of inept government in itself).

Mucho más interesante y deprimente que los reciclajes de mitos sobre las mujeres empoderadas e incomprendidas. Y darse cuenta del horror que produce a las acusadas pensar que puedan ser brujas.

Para mí lo más interesante es constatar el estrés al que están sometidas estas comunidades -climático, económico, familiar, religioso- y percatarse de que las acusaciones son una forma de canalizar este estrés.

El contexto es diferente -la Nueva Inglaterra del s. XVII- pero el libro de Malcolm Gaskill La ruina de todas las brujas expone cómo funcionan las acusaciones de brujería en una comunidad rural. Es una obra reveladora y muy bien escrita.

I too hope he hangs on in there! And very much looking forward to seeing him go onto greater things in the next few years. Had a soft stop for Kelly, whom I remember as a totally cool racer in the Vueltas of my childhood, and have one for Healy too.
