i also think abt how the writing suffers sometimes w these characters- for whatever reason or another writers can really fall off w their lesbian characters if they’re not careful (im thinking of something specific lmfao)

like…. any lesbian character i can think of i can also think, instantly, of them getting picked apart to hell and back on the topic of their sexuality. i know a big part of it is homophobia and misogyny, since i do not see this w gay or male characters nearly as much or ever, but it still sucks

and even WHEN characters are confirmed to be lesbians, in or out of character, you get so many people trying to bend backwards to make them “ermmm bi actually” bc people cannot fathom someone just. being a lesbian. (they do this to real life lesbians too lmao)

people treat it like a dirty word, or like it’d be too much to “commit” to- like somehow being bi is a “safer” option or even a halfway point instead of its own sexuality. i think this also veers into a shitty way of treating bisexuality as well

i think what i’m specifically asking for is more lesbians who are like me- a lot of the characters that i’d personally identify with are bi. and that’s not a bad thing, but i think there is a lack of characters who are just straight up Lesbians
