Aida Overton Walker (1880-1914), also billed "The Queen of the Cakewalk", was an African American vaudeville performer, actress, singer, dancer, & choreographer.
She performed with her husband George and his partner Bert Williams in groups such as Black Patti's Troubadours.

Una Marson (1905 – 1965) was a Jamaican feminist, activist, and writer of poems, plays, and radio programs.
She traveled to London in 1932 and became the first Black woman to be employed by the BBC in [until] 1941.
