Crazy thing is that's not dissimilar to what Stefan Zweig wrote in 1942:

I'm pretty sure there's a perfect correlation between the length of time that a papal conclave goes on and the frequency that journalists covering it talk about seagulls

If 2024 was the year of incumbents losing, is 2025 the year of the incumbent comeback?

🚨 Just over 2 hours left to submit your questions:

The UK Government is increasing defence spending from 2.3% to 2.5% of GDP, alongside a cut to overseas development aid.

What would you ask the UK Government about its defence spending boost? Let us know 👇

My hot take is that the world is heading in a very bad direction if "solidarity, equality, & sustainability" are considered bad things

A Republican congressman has proposed a constitutional amendment to allow Trump to run for a third term, but it's very clearly designed to prevent Obama from getting his hat-trick

Big news today that Lebanon is seemingly on the verge of electing a new president (on the 13th parliamentary attempt), more than two years after the last president left office

Did I predict Trudeau resigning? Well, it took longer than I implied it would, and it was more a 'pushed out' than a 'peace out', but other than that... bang on
