Another very exciting and important publication: a 500-page treatment of the early medieval royal site at Rendlesham, Suffolk. Essential reading for all early medievalists interested in kingship, landscape, economy and much else besides. Now available here: www.pen-and-sword.co.uk/Lordship-and...

Anyone interested in weird little mint-places in the late Anglo-Saxon period can now read (Open Access) about Geothaburh and Eastcheap (the latter written with the excellent
Richard Ambrose) here: britnumsoc.org/images/Annua... (coin in image is cngcoins.com/Coin.aspx?Co...)

Congratulations to Kristin Bornholdt Collins, who has submitted her volume on coins from the Isle of Man to the publisher. This will be a work of critical importance for anyone interested in early medieval Man, Britain, Ireland, coinage and the economy of the Viking World more broadly.

Anyone interested in medieval money and economy would be well advised to come along (on 14 October) to this excellent symposium, in honour of Dr Martin Allen, imminently retiring from the Fitzwilliam Museum.
