Here we go. I'm going to read a Superman comic every day leading up to the release of the new Superman movie on July 11th (and beyond probably, let's see how I go 🤓)
Day One - All-Star Superman No. 1
Supergirl (2025-) #2 www.goodreads.com/book/show/23...
Great comic, but needs more Streaky the Supercat! 😉

Such a great first issue by Sophie Campbell @mooncalfe1.bsky.social and the colouring by Tamra Bonvillain @tamrabonvillain.bsky.social is just sublime!

Day 49 - Action Comics 961
Should I mention that this is yet another penultimate issue to a storyline and I've realized that I don't own the final part 😭 I really need to figure out another way to set my reading selections 😆

Day 47 - Action Comics 959
The re-telling of the Doomsday saga continues, complete with an ad for Snickers taking up the center spread of the comic featuring Doomsday. Not sure if that was intentional or not 🤔

Day 46 - Action Comics #958
This is an interesting version of Lex Luther portrayed here. Attempting to step in an fill the vacuum from the death of this world's Superman, only to have another one turn up. I'd be peeved as well if I was him.

Day 45 - Action Comics #957
DC Universe Rebirth was a re-entry point for me. This re-introduction of the Pre-Flashpoint Superman into the role after the 52 version of Supes dies, is an audacious move, though it seems it was accepted without much fuss.

Day 44 - Action Comics #851
The stereoscopic effects use for the Phantom Zone sequences, which also means this comic came with a pair of "3-D" glasses! It's a fun gimmick, but you wouldn't want to read too many comics like this 😊

Day 43 - Action Comics Annual #10
I absolutely loved this! Short stories and special features by a range of artists. Turns out I have a soft spot for the story of Mon-El, which I must of come across as a kid, so it was nice to be reminded of it.

Day 42 - Action Comics #846
I'm getting behind in posting these. I'm still reading a Superman comic a day, just not posting about it, lol. As a result I don't have too much to say about this issue. But I have a bit more to say about the next one 😁

Day 41 - Action Comics #845
What do you know, it's Bizarro Superman again! This version is a corrupted clone of Supes that Lex Luther is responsible for, which seems a practical origin, but I think I prefer the version that comes from an entire Bizarro World.

Day 40 - Action Comics #844
Something of an event when it this came out due to the involvement of movie director, Richard Donner, and the story does feel like it could be a continuation from the films he was involved with. This was a good period for DC IMO 😁

Day 39 - Superman - Up In The Sky #5
I don't care for Darkseid but Tom King does have a interesting take on him. In far more dastardly deeds, I never picked up the final issue in this mini-series for whatever reason. Turns out this is common in my collection 😐

Day 37 - Superman - Up In The Sky #3
The first story was a unsettling, Kafkaesque tale, while the second has Andy Kubert drawing Sgt Rock, the character co-created by his father Joe. Now that's something.

Day 36 - Superman - Up In The Sky #2
So I'm assuming this cover is a tribute, in its way, to the 1978 comic, Superman vs. Muhammad Ali. I'd see the ads for that book and be fascinated by the idea, but it is a comic I have yet to read. Has anyone out there read it?

Day 35 - Superman - Up In The Sky #1
While on a break from comic books years ago, it was Tom King's Batman run that dragged me back in. It was therefore exciting for me to see him have a crack at Superman.
