It’s not for everyone! And it’s honestly less invasive than it seems. Mostly your fingers just get slobber over them. Which, I’ve got an Aussie pup as well and half the time he wants to hold my hand in his mouth anyway so everyone else thinks it’s a good time

We have to do it often for fireworks, esp in the summer. Tbh if you make a game out of it they usually don’t care too much. I handle my dogs a LOT tho. Typically we do cuddles and then pop it in, and then she gets zoomies.

I just stick my hand down my dogs throat 🤷‍♀️
