I choose daily romance on purpose & it's steeped in my awareness and deep engagement with reality. And amazingly, the human brain has room for more than one thought. You can fight hard against fascism AND you can smell a hyacinth. It's allowed.

Day to day romance gets a lot of pushback. As though, if you're taking pleasure in experiencing daily existence you must not care enough about important things or must be naive or unaware of how bad things really are. Couldn't be further from the truth.

And the sky, just sitting there being beautiful in a wide variety of ways and occasionally getting so full it leaks and we need umbrellas. What an absolute bonkers, delightful physics situation that rain exists.

There are a lot of big stressful things out of my control in my personal life and in America right now. And, also, there are birds chattering at me as I walk to my car. And my nephew throwing a blanket over his shoulders and announcing "I'm a dhost!" (Ghost.)

Shopping/running errands often feels like a dissociative hellscape but there are zero things stopping me from smelling the hyacinths on my way in and out.

That's what I used AND I was careful about where I applied it but unfortunately it still made its way. Let me know if you find a really good one.
