All things Boston. Sports. Law. Politics. Music. A seemingly boring guy who loves “crazy”. Ex-twitter user looking for a bluesky high.
So sorry to hear this. In the beginning (+/- 2000) Bruce created an outlet for many of us who wanted to vent about a generally negative boston sports media. It created a wonderfully creative, collaborative online community that continues to entertain and make me laugh. I’m forever grateful. RIP.

This is my point. The @democrats.org weren’t able to take advantage of Trumps weak performance by creating pointed and cohesive talking points around it. R’s did. And the R’s had been consistently touting Biden’s mental capacity for 2 years and so this debate played into that messaging.

Yes, ultimately it’s the voters - but let me ask, why did they think this?
I don’t think (IMO) average voters are able look past the headlines and sound bites. Republicans have figured this out and use very simple, targeted, yet broad messaging. The @democrats.org have not effectively adjusted.

Generally speaking I blame the @democrats.org for being incompetent and incapable of running a focused, consistent campaign. Or of understanding their constituents. Is Harris part of that? Yes. But it’s too easy to blame 1 candidate or 1 reason for a broad party failure.

We’re fine - but thanks for thinking of us (still) 😉

Did anybody press him on the return they got for Devers and the anger the fanbase feels over the perceived imbalance of the deal?
June 17, 2025 at 1:32 AM
This is a horrible trade @redsox.com. Ironically, lots of fans I know have a renewed interest this season…for many it’s the first time since the Mookie trade that they’ve paid attention on a daily basis (not sure if the ratings show this - but anecdotally). As usual, Sox out of touch with fanbase.

Immigration is not a winner b/c @democrats.org were out-maneuvered on that subject years ago (despite Obama’s aggressive deportation policy). Democracy and the economy (real OR imagined) are the issues that resonate across party lines. And like immigration , to win in 2026 requires messaging NOW!
June 12, 2025 at 2:51 PM
Yes - this. As a party, the @democrats.org remain hopelessly disconnected. @housedemocrats.bsky.social @democrats.senate.gov
June 12, 2025 at 2:12 PM
This is brilliant. We need more of this @democrats.org @housedemocrats.bsky.social @democrats.senate.gov

And this should be posted by every member of the party. THIS is the type of message that gets people talking. Creative. Funny. Yet with a serious underlying message. More please.

This @democrats.org

This is what happens when you can’t modernize and organize behind a unified strategy. You keep losing more of your base.
June 10, 2025 at 8:19 PM
This absolutely nails the strategic differences between R’s and Dems and why the @democrats.org have fallen behind.
June 5, 2025 at 3:03 PM
You have to do both. Tactfully.
June 5, 2025 at 12:21 PM
(Admittedly, the republican party had become more of a cult than a political operation- but that does not mean there aren’t some lessons to be learned from their operation)
May 27, 2025 at 11:48 AM
This is the difference between the @democrats.org and the republicans. The R’s unite, plan and execute their long term strategy while the Dems read the latest polls and decide on the issue of the day. Lather, rinse, repeat. @democrats.senate.gov @housedemocrats.bsky.social

@democrats.org @democrats.senate.gov @housedemocrats.bsky.social

FYI Dems. Figure this out quickly or lose.
May 22, 2025 at 2:13 PM
Ok @democrats.org - don’t let this die. Nothing hits the MAGA crowd more than “the government is taking something from me!”. Hammer this home and you will slowly start chipping away at their base.
May 19, 2025 at 9:17 PM
Right? This is a non-story - but consider the source (Murdoch owned paper). Ignore it and it disappears in 24 hours.

File under: Things that won’t make a dent in the next election. We all know he’s corrupt.

Focus on 2 issues that WILL make a difference: The economy and Democracy. Rinse. Wash. Repeat. These are the issues that will win the Dems seats in the midterms if you focus on them.
