I am super in favour of it. In one of the recent big online tournaments one of my opponents had taunt on their Flutter on the teamsheet which led to me not using spore with Amoonguss in auto-winning positions and then I found out later that they had Shadow Ball instead of it.

Snip fast as opposed to snip hard, stop movement key before WE combo so that you cna instantly go to the edge without repositioning W accidentally that you can be in the enemies faces and have them unable to attack, old ult combos that dont exist anymore because you dont need to reser R anymore

I was also known for finding a lot of build optimisation for various champions. I've since moved on to Pokémon VGC because LoL was not making me happy and found the analyst skills to transfer well into teambuilding and meta analysis but I am still trying to get good at the game itself.
