This bubble can’t pop soon enough. One potential upside might be all the idle datacenters with decent GPU’s might finally bring affordable game streaming. They need to recoup their investment somehow 🤞

You’d think the steam machine is still pretty much targeting the tech savvy pc gamer niche. Therefore I’d say the price needs to be really close to or even slightly undercut a diy build of similar spec. If it doesn’t, there’s not much value there beyond novelty and aesthetics.

Let me put it like this, personally I feel in a much stronger position to criticize the populist right if I don't engage with media that employ similar tactics. I'll keep following DW and times radio instead - both very much critical of trump but backed up with excellent journalistic standards

Whataboutism. Fox is nowhere near a glowing example of journalism, even without those court cases. We should want to hold ourselves to much higher standards and the list offered by OP covers that. Meidas touch is full of sensationalized opinion pieces that do more harm than good imo.

I bought a thrift store HDMI capable DVD player, including 25 of my favorite childhood movies for the equivalent of about 3 months of subscription fees. I so much prefer my kids to take a DVD and watch a movie than to stream anything. It's a much more intentional activity.

I highly recommend Times Radio for it's coverage on trump and Ukraine. They might be considered center-right in Britain on domestic issues, but on international topics they are a great source of expert opinion and reporting.

The tracking that's used is worse than most think though. Bluetooth beacons track your movement in the real world too, which is almost hot mic territory. I was waiting for someone next to a Dyson stand inside a major retailer. I got ads for that product immediately afterwards...

Isn't that tariff related perhaps? Here in the Netherlands major retailers stock the series x 1tb at roughly 20% more than at launch in 2020. Pretty much in line with the 20-25% inflation we've had here since then.

Yeah search is pretty easy to de-google. Email, drive, docs, photos, Android and YouTube are a whole other story depending on the features you need/want. I haven't found a good alternative for docs and photos yet and YouTube is practically a monopoly..

You won't see the real voice of the people though. Where the number of minutes spent on a platform equates to profit, moderation has a conflict if interest. Boosting content that drives engagement -largely driven by anger- is the very mechanism that drives polarisation in our society.

I hope you're right but I'm not confident.. escalation plays in their favor, it's a necessary stepping stone towards martial law and the official declaration of the left as enemies of the state.

The geometric feasibility depends heavily on the types of amenities you want within your walkable area. There are quite a few of those plots here, but you won't find cinemas. Multiple restaurants, shops, schools and gyms are all within a mile though. These properties are also at least 3mln for sure.
