Filing for Social Security Disability can feel like dropping your paperwork into a black hole. Keep your paperwork together, stay in touch with your doctor, and remember—a delay isn’t the same as a denial.

When you’re talking to a lawyer, ask them how often they take cases all the way to court. If they dodge the question or can’t give you a straight answer, that’s a sign they may not fight for the long haul.

If you’re hurt at work, what you do in the first few minutes can make or break your claim. The first step is to report it. Next, get medical care. And finally, take the time to write everything down.

A good lawyer will know the system, keep you informed, and push back when the insurance company tries to cut off your benefits. Too many people settle for less because they didn’t have someone willing to take the case to court. Don’t let that be you.

One thing that sets me apart from other lawyers, is that I’ve worked workers' comp cases from both sides. That insight helps me guide injured workers with a clearer picture of what to expect and how to keep their case on track.

Before you apply for Social Security Disability, get organized. Here's what you'll need: medical records, work history for the last 15 years, proof of income & tax records, a list of meds & side effects, and notes about how your condition affects your daily life.

I want to thank those who’ve served our country. Many of my clients are veterans who’ve spent their lives taking care of others. If you know a veteran struggling to get disability benefits, share this post or reach out. I’m proud to serve those who’ve served all of us.

Not all lawyers handle workers’ comp cases the same way. Look for someone who knows worker's comp law, has experience on both sides, communicates clearly, is prepared to go to court if needed, and treats you with respect.

The first thing you do if you're injured at work is file the claim and get a medical evaluation. If the claim is accepted, you could see the first check in 3-4 weeks. If it's denied, things slow down, and you might be headed for hearings and appeals.

When you’re injured on the job, time is NOT on your side. Everything you do that first day matters - report your injury to your supervisor, see a doctor immediately, and write it all down.
