Went for a tramp today up in the hills not far from Methven. Washpen Falls is amazingly beautiful, and it was good exercise too. #Aotearoa

Exactly. Collins Publishers translated Plato, apparently. I couldn't find the name of the translator in the book or on the cover.

Do you mean this book has no translator, Collins? I guess it was written in English in...let's see...2021?

Was surprised to see this in Christchurch, by the airport. Don't think anyone can easily get this plate here, right? #Aotearoa

Great signs on Rakiura (Stewart Island)!

I'm away from home for about ten days, writing on Rakiura (Stewart Island), and the way the locals keep commenting that I'm here for 'quite a while' makes me think of Shirley Jackson's 'The Summer People', even though the locals are friendly, and it isn't summer.

Was browsing the shelves in an independent bookshop, as you do, and saw these two little books. Would really recommend them to writers. They cover so much!

Borrowed this excellent book from the library, and am slowly reading my way through it. Lots of wonderful writing advice, and life advice for writers, particularly relevant to the present moment. #writing

Just finished rereading (for the third time) 'I'm thinking of ending things' by Iain Reid. Such a well-written, disturbing, and yet also philosophical book. Still not entirely sure of everything in it, but maybe that's the point. Well worth reading and rereading.

My younger daughter wanted to see a video on what a Nazi salute looked like (she didn't know), so I looked for a historical video about it. But Elon dominated results, even when I later added 'at a nazi rally'.

I'm reading into the possible future of the US health system under the convict president and the mad clown oligarchy.

Am currently rereading 'You' by Caroline Kepnes, one of my favorite novels, as an audiobook. Santino Fontana does an amazing job with the narration, which makes it well worth a listen, particularly if you like the book and/or the TV series. #reading #audiobooks

Just finished reading the horror novel 'Camp Damascus,' written by Chuck Tingle, about a Christian gay conversion camp and its effects on the people concerned. Was enthralled by the story, and by its gripping climax. #reading #horror
