I can definitely recommend Akira Kurosawa’s High and Low. In my (humble) opinion he’s never made a bad movie.

The Criterion Channel streaming service is an incredible resource for anyone who loves films. I’ve been watching classic Japanese cinema such as Death by Hanging and Woman in the Dunes. My favorite so far has been Harakiri.
