i’d recommend d&j digital imaging or the last good film lab. photography is the closest thing i have to an ology that i know a lot about, so hopefully this was a good explanation. lmk if you have any other questions or are interested in seeing some fish pics 🫡

it doesn’t take more than a few days. i live in the valley and usually get my scans done at either red room photo lab or valley photo service in sherman oaks. i know you mentioned living in east LA, and there are some good labs there too,

the pictures are particularly sentimental) they aren’t really useful for much anymore as digital storage is easier, but are just kinda cool to have and look at. one roll of 35mm film typically costs about $15-20 to develop and get scanned. turnaround time depends on the lab but usually

they’ll ask for an email to send it to, and depending on the store, they will either email you the pictures via wetransfer or dropbox or something similar. they’ll also ask if you want to keep the negatives, and that’s entirely up to you (i usually don’t unless

was listening on my drive back from the aquarium (ironically enough to take my new digital camera for a spin) but i heard you mention your disposable camera and not knowing what to do with it. when i finish a roll i go to the film lab and ask for the digital scans.

pretty sure they’re an adaptation that aids in seeing at night/low light conditions. a lot of vertebrates have them, and if you literally open an eyeball, you can see the reflective surface behind the retina and its dope as hell (did this in seventh grade LOL)
