BTW, I partially agree with you in that we need to encourage people to leave MAGA, but I disagree with your assertion that Democrats accepted Trump’s racism when he identified as a D. Were these mainstream Democrats, or conservative DINOs?

Well, if the donor class have enough money to fund Bazelon’s work, then they have enough money to fund Bazelon’s candidates. I will not be contributing to the DNC until it breaks its addiction to consultants. Instead I will be supporting local candidates willing to fight for people.

In the report, I think Kaste put some effort into explaining the lag between the adoption of the 14th amendment and the time the U.S. government recognized the principle of birthright citizenship.

The point I’m trying to make is that the rights guaranteed in the text of the Constitution aren’t always immediately recognized. It often takes time, new circumstances and court cases to recognize new rights. That’s why there is a gap between the adoption of the law and recognition of the right.
