The idea that anyone can definitively say who used and who didn’t from that era is as absurd as inducting Bud Fucking Selig while keeping many players out.

Am I crazy for thinking 71 might already be starting to have the same impact on the Sharks and their culture that 30 has had on the Warriors? Is it time for casual fans to start paying attention again maybe a year or two ahead of schedule?

Are we really a better place because Nixon got pardoned? Or because Bush and Cheney were feted in retirement rather than prosecuted and imprisoned? How has allowing Trump to act with unmitigated power been working so far? We have to stop letting people off the hook for even the slightest contrition.

Those that suggest we do need to celebrate her or welcome her to polite society need to stop. They also need to ask themselves, what do we as a society get from giving her a pass? When and how has that helped us? Did it help during Reconstruction?

Even if she has seen the error of her ways, and I truly hope she has, the utter lack of humanity and personal judgement are more than enough to be expelled from public life. Ultimately that's up to the voters in her district, but we absolutely do not need to celebrate her in any way.

It is pretty easy to draw a fairly direct line between the lack of consequences during Reconstruction to the society we have today. There is a world of space between "execution" and "nothing." We should never forget who she is, or, if you buy the most generous interpretation, was.

If we assume they were genuine though, that does not mean the rest of us can or should throw our arms around her and welcome her into public society without any consequences for her past actions.

In my view it's at least as likely that these comments were a deliberate attempt by her to soften her image in the eyes of a much less partisan audience than she typically addresses. Let's see what happens going forward.

Good lesson on not giving away games with no effort because there will be nights you’re good and still lose because hockey. Part of growing up (hopefully not to be repeated).

I think we need to be thankful that the US Department of Doors and Dashes was not one of the government agencies targeted by the Trump administration.

And I’m not saying he is the best player in the world today, but I am utterly convinced he will be within the next 3 years, and that it will be basically impossible to argue otherwise in 5 years.

Keep thinking that, as opposed to the last decade of “let’s hope to play meaningful games in September, Buster wants someone willing to say “eff you, let’s go” to the Dodgers.

Are you sure that’s not an AI image? It’s about equally believable.

Yeah, they don’t need to win the cup but they need to show progress and right now they aren’t.

This is the worst case scenario. Most of the new blue line looks awful and is now there blocking some young players who could at least grow from the struggles.
