#writers, do 2 things - for you. 1) Have faith in your work, but be open to constructive feedback. 2) Be honest with yourself. Be accountable for what you create. You'll learn every day, and get better.
Also - Constructive criticism beats bad reviews, hands down. Keep the first, ignore the second.

Another thought - everything is subjective. One person's gold is another person trash. And thick skin - when I started my career in live television, a director said:

"You better grow some thick skin if you're gonna make it in this business."

Truer words were never spoken. I spent 20 years there.

An editor once said, about an early draft of my as-yet unpublished dystopian epic:

"DNF - I'd give it one star and throw it in the trash."

I mean, at least it didn't make him vomit. He wasn't necessarily wrong - but did he have to be so harsh? Lesson - don't share unfinished work.

Not sure what happened to the photo - the books is not wide like that…bsky weirdness? I don’t know, but I do know it’s a great book in any format.

The cover looks fantastic, love how it ties back to the first book and continues Charlie’s journey in such a powerful way.

Thank you - this means so much to me. I wanted to connect to the first book and show the distance the characters have traveled - in space and time, and emotionally, psychologically. And on the back are some short white lines that end abruptly- these represent the broken road from the first book.

I’m a word nerd. And I like descriptive analogies and metaphors. Im also fond of festering, fly covered blister of noxious pus that has been steaming in the August sun. I apply that one to Tump🤣

“Slimy turd rope” - excuse me while I write that down I. Order to steal it for a future story.

Also, well said.

I’d love to figure out to turn one or more of my books (current or upcoming into a game OR learn how to get involved with narrative writing for games.

But I’m an old man now and I just don’t see how my work would fit into the Pong universe of my childhood.

😁
