Don't believe Thune; believe Trump & Bannon. They are 100% ending the Filibuster. (Maybe after Holiday travel problems & headlines?) What's galling is Dems should have done this so many times – before the GOP did it. Thune will say, "We have no choice." He'll blame the radical Left. Watch.

Burying the Lead/Lede — 7th graph down & nowhere in the headline: “Yet Trump still has not delivered evidence to Congress supporting claims that the alleged drug boats were carrying narcotics.“ At this point - after Venezuela killings - isn’t this the story now? Dereliction of duty by media. Again.

Remember & Repeat: GOP can re-open the gov tmrw with just 50 votes in the Senate by changing filibuster rules ‘one time’ for their spending bill. McConnell did it often; Thune has already done this for appointments/confirmations this term. They have 54 votes with VP. This all the Dems need to say..

I recognize how pivotal he was on that January morning. But the lowlight of the Atlantic Festival was Mike Pence. “Donald Trump has not changed the Republican Party.” Really? Didn’t he send flying monkeys to “hang” you? Remember the gallows they brought? (They were Dems?) @theatlantic.com #TAF2025

“He had it coming.” That line – delivered sardonically by British comic Richard Ayoade – had everyone getting the laugh we needed yesterday. He was being interviewed by David Letterman about another TV comedian in the news. (Day 2 today.) #TAF25 @theatlantic.com @theatlanticpr.bsky.social

My cancellation of the WaPo took about five months to go into effect. Today is the day! Yet I have conflicting feelings: F-ck Bezos but what a loss—WaPo WAS a national treasure. Democracy Dies In Capitulation.

Price of a dozen eggs on 1/21 inauguration: $6.13.
Ten days later: $7.09 (+15%).
Today: $7.48 (+22%).

Remember, prices & inflation were “going to come down - and come down quickly.” This was, we were told over and over, why he won.

Point well made. Good rebuttal.
I'm going to remember this when confronted with someone throwing the term around.
Btw, found it on Facebook - it's still good for some things.

It's been exactly 1 month since Buddy got this uke for Xmas. Takes it to brunch. Takes it into the bath (it's plastic). Takes it to bed. We bought 2 extras for when he breaks/loses one. Good move: we're already on No2. 🎸🎸🎸

Feline Frienemies: Stormy + Riley. Here, they keep four eyes on a human friend eating dinner last night. Later, they chased, hissed & tackled each other late into the night. We awoke to them coiled up next to each other at the foot of the bed. 😺

12:59am last Thursday at the Capitol for Jimmy Carter's memorial. 20 degrees & windy – I thought I'd waltz in by arriving so late. Ha! Thousands were in queue to pay last respects all night. I bailed after an hour of the line barely budging. It was cold. But my heart is still WARM. ❤️ ~ RIP Jimmy
