An unforgettable day. On our way to visit family in Alabama, we visited the Civil Rights Institute in Birmingham yesterday. Someone told us the 60th anniversary of Bloody Sunday was today and so we took little detour and got to march across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma with thousands of others.

We need people to become more media literate. A resource I share with my students every semester is the Adfontes Media Bias Chart. It may not be perfect, but it gives them a visual that not all “news” are created equal. Then we look at one event to compare how different sources report it.
