yup. I did a couple years in quick service and a couple years in hotels/corporate facility work. I worked with some absolute reprobates, all of us were a little nuts, worked our asses off, most of them drank too much and smoked too much weed, but even the ones i didn't like i could trust.

what should really terrify her, and i know this because i have both a culinary degree and a JD, is that those people in kitchens work 10x harder than "intellectuals" like her and most of them are smarter, too. They just either never got the intellectual opportunities she did, or they like cooking.

also, order the steak at least medium. you're eating to consume here, not to savor. the rarer the steak, the more difficult to chew. medium is a nice balance of texture and moisture

not that i'd attempt it, but, in order, shrimp, steak, salad, potato. eat roll during steak. The shrimp degrade the fastest. The potato will stay hot so it's last. do the steak before the salad, or perhaps do half the steak, then the salad then finish steak. you'd want to down the steak ASAP.
