I've had it for 40 years. Usually I can ignore it; I've learnt to listen to external noise instead. I can't cope with silence around me. Noise-cancelling headphones are horrifying! Alas the pitch of mine changed due to Menopause so now I'm having to relearn to ignore it. It's driving me crazy again.
