There are too many Edge shills in Windows laptop communities even though Chromium forks like Thorium exist. Sadly Firefox has never been on par with battery optimization.

It is usable once you GPO all the crap out, that said, still ridiculous a browser requires a 'debloat'.

I see you mention AMD, and I was naive enough to think that dual amdgpu laptop would be a great experience on Linux. It's ASUS's fault, though.

It really depends on the hardware. PC without exotics–pretty solid. Steam Deck amazing even, while being backed by a billionaire company. Too bad I still couldn't get CUPS to recognize a crappy Canon printer, though the scanner works perfectly.

As for the interface, it's the least problematic for me on Linux. GNOME has come a long way and Plasma is also looking good. Hyprland is more minimalist and smoother than either of them.

I still prefer the old naming scheme due to it matching the CPUs. Say, I can have a R5 5600X and a RX 5600 XT rig (or the more recent equivalent).

On another note, how is Nix for fully remote installation under SSH? How do you handle multiple hosts?

It's too slow, and I still have to make scripts for a full-fledged Arch Linux install from archiso to a complete environment. However, I got some good experience for the industry.
