Also we want to encourage competition between companies to innovate and let the free market dictate success and if a company fails so be it.. but when a better or cheaper employee can do the same job we want to go out of our way to protect the worse or more expensive employee?

How many young bright people don't want to go into politics because they fear being killed? If you're really bright maybe you realize this. Not that current politicians necessarily care because that would be competition for your job which is totally "unAmerican" (see immigration)

What veteran on the Jazz has the most trade value?

Another pro is general high quality league talent, coaching, & management. There are few truly awful or mismanaged franchises which gives most fan bases hope even if their team is currently bad. & the teams at the top/middle of the league all have legit stars. Injuries mitigate the last point though

Worst:
-RSN blackouts in local markets w/ league pass
-Schedule is too long (& all the baggage that comes w/ that, injuries, worse quality of games, etc)
-Deluge of betting ads during the game

Best:
-NBA Cup
-Play in (games are fun but mostly to disincentivize tanking)
-NBA Top 10 (w/ goatmentator)
