Lived in New York, Tokyo, Gifu.
Living in Yokohama.
Stayed in London.
Regular visits to Paris.
I saw a man brushing his teeth while walking.
I’ve stood next to a girl who was using a hot iron on her hair while riding an extremely crowded metro in Tokyo.
I saw a man walking a hog on a leash.

Everyday life is so weird.

Two more days of work and off to vacation. Of all places Rome.

On the other hand I would still be young if I were in the Diet.

Reality-when you realize that most municipal candidates are younger than you.

The songs are powerful. And this is about life in its most bittersweet form. Even if you are the best of friends, sometimes you have to go separate ways. And the rife manipulation, discrimination, and rebelling against it, it’s relevant than ever.
In short,I loved it.

Went to see “Wicked” at last. From a person who saw the stage version three times, sometimes the details were overwhelming. To watch the actor actually defying gravity on stage was what brought goosebumps, so maybe not as thrilling when you know it’s digitally enhanced.
But what the heck!

Am I living in Alice in Wonderland? First time my jaw actually dropped to the floor.
And I’ve lived through the peak of the Cold War.

For Dickens, the true villains are not people who physically harm people. It’s those who are cruel and destroy people for their pleasure. And heroes are those who are kind and can feel sorry for others. Call me naive, but it’s so refreshing if you consider the current social climate!

Come on,David! She’s right before your eyes and you are foolish not to realize it! No, it’s not Dora! (Still listening to David Copperfield)

David Copperfield
I am truly enjoying this reading by Richard Armitage. It’s amazing how he can perform all the different characters!
As for the story, I thoroughly this would be a textbook coming of age story. Of course it is, but it’s much more fundamental.

Now I’ve seen a pig, no a HOG taking a walk on a leash!
WHAT IS HAPPENING!?

I saw a man holding a full grown turkey. The man was smiling. The turkey was clucking. This is in Yokohama where you normally don’t see birds bigger than pigeons. And they’re certainly not in the arms of human beings.

They said that they will continue to stand firm and do the right thing. Another quoted the slogan of the Brits when they were living through the Blitz.
Keep Calm and Carry On.
Maybe they are only a small part of the American population, but even so, encouraging.

I have participated in discussions about the unbelievable, incoherent policies(do they deserve to be called policies?) that is coming out of the Trump administration.
Although I feel that I am in a tunnel with water slowly rising, I am encouraged by what I have heard from Americans.

To the Lighthouse
You can feel from the very beginning the death of Mrs.Ramsay and the long shadow it casts upon the characters. Time is such a prominent factor in this book.

Mrs. Dalloway
I was impressed by the delicate way Virginia Woolf writes about a middle-aged woman. Other writers tend to rely on stereotypes, while Mrs. Dalloway is so alive. And the flowers!

Ashamed to say although I majored at English literature, I’ve never read “Moby Dick.”
I’ve listened to the audiobook version, and now I understand why it’s regarded as a masterpiece. It’s like a rich tapestry with so many threads running through its dazzling!
