My lore for him is that he went off to college and eventually became a professor. Now he's retired and ready to go kart again.

I wanted to reimagine JR like since bringing him back in his current state I feel would cause confusion. This design makes it clearer that he is current DK's father (If that hasn't been changed) and giving him his own identity and reason for why he was gone.
