I really don't know the actual name Joe. Fascinating creatures. I've not seen one here in Quebec yet, but as you know they are hard to spot among all the plants. Frogs? A huge variety in the forest, swamp and river nearby.

Tree frogs here in Canada are different in that they easily camouflage themselves to look more like tree bark to blend into their surroundings. Feel very fortunate to have come across one in the forest close by.

Paddy drove some of those snakes across the ocean to Ontario. Thankfully harmless ones but can still give a good bite now and then. (Just a few pix taken a while back)

Have one for you! Early spring these "guys" begin to show up to clean up. Timid birds but hold their own when a "kill" is found. The Eagles have dispersed now that spring is here. Should see the Vultures again soon.

Turtles were always somewhat of a fascination with me as a kid and still are today. What I've found the last number of years is the dwindling of habitat due to drought and possibly the re-direction of snow melt from vulnerable areas.

Chopin and "Smoke". We called this poor cat Smoke, not knowing his name. Wandered into the yard for a couple of days and wouldn't eat. Last seen in the home of a neighbor, looking out of their front window. Chopin visited every day, a lovable guy sadly missed.

A brisk day today but none of the Bald Eagles seem to mind. This eagle, a maturing juvenile one of many eagles in the area.

Incredible sharpness. A beautiful pic out of the many of yours, no better no less. The Herons can be timid if too close, unless they come across a buffet they can't do without.
