ok so i went back and checked and the announcement trailer was 7 years ago but the game's been in development for over 10 years so i'm still counting that

we've waited over a decade for it, and yet these last few days are feeling the longest. tuesday can't come soon enough

that video they released earlier today genuinely makes the game look more like a game engine with how much customisation you have over builds. i'm sure it won't be too overwhelming if you're playing casual survival though, i suspect some building features will be creative only

i think people are gonna jump on that insanely fast. i'd be surprised if this doesn't exist already a week after launch

I'm most impressed with the dev tools. Having spent years making maps and minigames in Minecraft, the stuff that looks possible in Hytale is genuinely got me super excited

it feels crazy to have it on my pc after all these years. i just booted it up and stared at it for a few minutes

This is actually nuts. They've not made a game, they've made a game engine. I can't wait to see what we can do with these tools.
