There's many story points in ARR and beginning of StB where his lore would have dictated a very, very different approach to a conversation, or resolution to an issue, because he would not have stayed silent, or allowed someone he views as inexperienced into a situation to put people at risk.

Vide has more people skills than he lets on, or really shows at first, tsundere that he is. He's very adept at reading a situation, and a person, and getting what he wants out of it with relative ease. He's used to talking Garlean patrols out of inspecting his caravan of smuggled goods, with a smile

The Heaven's Ward got a similarly mouthy WoL to deal with while he was supposed to be playing nice.
By the time he reached the Forum in Sharlayan, he'd accepted that he was going to have to do this whole 'politics' thing he usually left to his brother. So he was a little more careful in his lecture

Vish tailors his tact to the person he's talking to, pretty routinely. Emet had to deal with a bored dragon who enjoyed nothing more than eating from the loudest snack bag he can find when the Ascian started monologuing. He had no time for Emet's superiority complex, and he was not shy about it.

That's the point. The cruelty is the point. It serves no other purpose but to make an entire population feel unwelcome in their own fucking country, and kick up more mindless hate to distract from the absolute hell they're making this world for everyone.

Just one more scapegoat of the regime.

Vide: Depends entirely on the situation. He'll intervene in the case of bullies, and clear power imbalances. He'll support almost anyone against the Empire. He holds grudges, but plays the long games.

But he will walk away from petty conflicts if he doesn't have an opinion (which is rare)

He's very content to be the reason Lolorito never sleeps soundly again, having threatened him during HW, and then vaguely reminding everyone in the room that he'll eat the popoto without blinking if he does something wrong again. +

Vish: Rarely, if ever, lets the conflict stand without at least digging in to learn everything he can about it, and then deciding if he needs to do something about it, when it involves himself or his allies. He's more likely to ignore it when it's a conflict with just him and one other person. +

I don't care about undocumented immigrants using our lackluster welfare benefits.

Mostly because it doesn't happen.

But also because, shitty as these programs often are, sometimes they're all that keep humans from starving. And I'm pro-humans not starving in my country.

Vide just hit HW. He is. So mad. He's understanding why his brothers made the choices they have, but he is **so mad**

For Vish: Tyrants, anyone who calls anyone he loves a "savage". The entire Sharlayan nation. Especially The Forum. Especially a certain Elezen on the Forum. Egomaniacs (basically every Garlean leader)

For Vide: Stupid selfish ambition. Arrogance, people who think they know him at ALL.

Vish's motivations changed with the story, naturally, but at the end of the day, the desire to make his parents proud, and to protect those he loved, was what kept him getting up again and again.

Vide's motivation, as a fresh WoL, is to stick it to the Garleans. To free his home of them entirely.

Vide's memory is close to perfect, for better and worse. It has been helpful in his work as a smuggler, and a resistance fighter, but has hindered in how clear unpleasant memories remain. He can recall the pain of torture at the hands of Garleans as clearly as the layout of a smugglers' hideout.

Vide is coldly professional. He finds people who operate only on impulse to be reckless, even if he can learn to trust their instincts. He comes across as cold and distant until he's decided trusting someone is worth the risk. He has a deep loathing for ineptitude caused by emotional responses

Vide is still figuring out this whole "Warrior of Light" thing he's been wrangled into, but he came to this mission after decades working as a smuggler and resistance fighter in Doma. He would love to burn the world down, but is practical enough to opt for tactical self-sacrifice

Vide takes black coffee, no sugar. Taste acquired from necessity
Aevar is a 4 or 5, depending on the coffee strength.
Vish is a special boy about flavors. He's both very picky, and very 'try anything' about things. He'll drink anything on that list, and has no preference as long as there is flavor

His brothers also sent him off with the best gear, leveraging his own smuggler contacts to get him there around the Empire's notice. And, of course, they gave him the promise to bring down all hells if he needs it while he's on his own journey.

And he's only just hit Titan 😅

When Vide got the Call to Eorzea, he showed up in Ul'Dah looking far less like a 'scruffy new adventurer' and more like someone who has been there, done that, and will kick someone's face in for mistreating refugees. He did not enjoy learning about Ul'Dahn society structure as a result. +

and laws (the old old world mafia style), while also dispatching Vide and his other brother on various missions to do that. His other brother is a spy and assassin who spends most of his time in Bozja, while Vide himself was, until the start of his WoL journey, was a smuggler. +
