This isn't sports doping. The award has more of an asterisk on Blue Prince than if Clair Obscur kept it.

The IGAs should have let Clair Obscur keep it and define the rules clearly for next year.

Why I think a video game award is the silly one is that 'the rules' are just being made up as we go along.

If you want ZERO generative AI, you can't expect that.
If you want to define no final assets as generative AI. You have something.

If you are going to use generative AI so that your placeholders blend in with your own art I think you have a project management issue.

I would bet that a lot of games use assets where someone isn't being compensated as a placeholder, it's just easier to track and remove later in development.
