But abandon bacstories? Why would you do that? There is some social contract to be consistent and don't just thro out characters. You agree you are playing this. I prepare story for you, this is what we do, BUT it's up to you how.

Yeah, because I have no idea what you mean. There are obviously things you cannot do in TTRPGs. You must act in mantinels of the genre, system and even in mantinels of the story (if you got the players on the board of it of course).
Why have characters wounded by Strahd, if they not gonna fight him?

There are systems like Ten Candles, where you dies literaly every time. Is that a board game? Just because there are some rules saying that you always die? Can DnD players just abandon their bacstories and/or start a bussines and stop fight monsters? This is so weird definition or what is this.

I kinda dont care for the classes. Like these are realy archetypes, there is not much that is bring by them to the settings. You dont even need gods for clerics.
