I hope you’re right but I’ve tricked myself into thinking the future was bright for 30+ years and it almost never materializes. I’ll be pleasantly surprised if they can build a consistent winner.

I love the Mets but we are most certainly a laughingstock. Stearns spent $340m and built a .500 team that can’t pitch or play defense. The team found new ways to lose almost nightly.

Is it fair to say they are playing down to these teams? They’ve been almost as bad as the Nats since June and are only a few games ahead of the Marlins.

It’s hard to believe this is mostly the same group of guys that had such a magical 2024 season. This team doesn’t deserve to play in October.

He will get more time because of his success in Milwaukee, but Stearns deserves some responsibility for this pathetic team.
