.@djchuck.bsky.social interestingly enough, William Blake belonged to the church of Swedonbourg a century later. He left the church b/c he found it to be too hierarchical, but definitely not b/c Swedonbourg had visions. Blake thought everyone had visions.

Babbage's On the Economies of Machinery and Manufactures does a good job of linking labor with computing. And a few of Ada Lovelace's notes from "Sketch of the Analytical Engine" reflect on AI, general computing, and electronic music. She also comes up in Turing's work.
