You could do that but the Daggerheart way would be to have you and the players take turn during session zero to name the places on the maps, and then you as the GM use that and the character backstories/connections to build out the campaign

The hope/fear mechanic of Daggerheart is one the best features. I really like using hope/fear as currency for player vs GM moves which allows play without a set initiative order allowing any player to go at any time which keeps them more engaged instead of zoning out until the next round.

I like the damage thresholds and hp slots in Daggerheart, you just need to compare the incoming damage against your thresholds to determine if you mark 1, 2 or 3 hp slots

I really like the combat in Daggerheart because of the fear/hope turn order and less math to speed up the combat, and you can still have that type of high damage scenario if you use the optional massive damage threshold which is dubble the severe threshold and marks 4 hp slots in one hit

I also like how touch friendly the character/adversary stat blocks are which is great for the apps I am building for it 🙂

As a GM I love Daggerheart, the fear/hope mechanic for handling turn order instead of turn order is amazing. Intead of having your players kill your adversaries before its turn you can spend fear to jump in when it fit (provided you keep some fear to spend 🙂)

I got into D&D after I found Critical role, and I liked that they played D&D as a way to help myself learn the game, so I was a bit worried when they announced that they were making their own game, but after seeing the game I prefer Daggerheart and now I want them to switch the main campaign to it

No it is the same as in 1.5, you only have your major and severe threshold numbers because minor is always 1, if you use armor to bring it down below 1 you mark no hitpoints

I love Daggerheart, I think it runs really good. So many things about it makes it great, I am switching my 5e games over to it
