To be fair, the KKK members were the pillars of Southern society - wealthy businessmen, doctors, lawyers, etc. The Proud Boys, not so much.

For many people, it's a moral issue. They believe driving and parking should be free, so they refuse to take part in a for-pay system. I'm a bit irrational like that with tennis courts - they were always free, so it really hurts me to pay, even when it's not that expensive and it's the best option.

In Europe, nobody has a plunger, and toilet brushes are much less used in the US. It's because the flush system is different (keeping a brush by the bowl in the US seems like overkill - my parents have survived 80+ years without). In Italy, they just call the plumber when any plunger would work.

Subject matter expertise is the least of it. Basically the internet exposes you to the general populace. For all the charts we may see about how ignorant and semi-literate the average person is, experiencing it directly is visceral and different.

He's also clearly a liar and not a good one either. On his LinkedIn, he says he left 2 years ago, and in a national article, he says 5. So an incompetent liar with no degree, no skills, and likely an incel affect in interviews - not really a mystery.

Honestly, most of that data isn't that useful for screening - who cares about my email if you can't log in or my social media account if you aren't my friend and can't see my posts? Likely they are trying to collect for other purposes (perhaps just providing it to private companies like DOGE).

Koopman's claim of 20 years to show it's safer seems disingenuous. Just looking at deaths maybe, but airbag deployments, injuries etc. are commoner by orders of magnitude. Only if there are far fewer crashes but such crashes are far more deadly (all evidence to the contrary) could Waymos be worse.

Crazy - I went to a top law school, and I didn't realize people were doing this at all. I dunno if it's changed a lot in 15 years, or it was just a secret (but if it's extra time, I should have noticed).

Although it doesn't make sense as a term in the New World, since, while the intent is clear, it literally would mean all the white people would get expelled as well.
