I wouldn’t say I’ve mastered the mirror glaze, but my cake frosting/smoothing game has gotten a lot better.

Dad’s Spooky Halloween Cake was ambitious. Nailed the mirror glaze, dark chocolate ancho chile sponge, and orange-colored caramel filling; still need to work on greasing the cake pan and smoothing the ganache. Also experimented with melting candy corn, which is the gel/crust on the bottom half.
