I've found a family tree on Ancestry which has a photo of Frank's headstone. The tree appears to belong to one of John Gilkes' grandsons.

My vintage staple remover from the Ace Fastening Corporation of Chicago. It's a model 600 type 3. Possibly from the 1940s based on the design of the box.

Here's a little egret sitting high up in a tree by a busy road in Epsom.

I've got a few snapshots taken in the field from that campaign. They are of men of the 2/14th Battalion London Regiment (2nd London Scottish). This one has 'Resting Ramallah Rd' written on the back.

Can't help feeling these are a metaphor for something.
