Les sondages (opinion polls) prior to the judgement had her around 34-37% with several other centre/left/Republican listed, the nearest being Edouard Philippe on 21%. However, in the second round, there will only be one other final candidate, so misc reporting in the UK press may be wide of the mark

A disappointing set of results with the Cons generally increasing vote share and several showing declines in Lib Dem vote share. LDs need to be careful when targeting Tory seats, where economic competence and tax issues are in play as well as support for businesses incl access to the Single Market.
