Per Supreme Court Rule 8, even the temporary suspensions would seem to trigger automatic suspension by the Supreme Court Bar and an order to show cause. I have not found any evidence that such an order was ever issued.

Also, apparently he said on a podcast last year that the Supreme Court told him it was not taking any action against him based on the suspensions. alabnews.com/with-law-lic...

It appears that the California decision disbarring him is not final, but is a recommendation to the California Supreme Court. Though he is currently suspended from practice in both California and the District of Columbia. apps.calbar.ca.gov/attorney/Lic...

Nothing in the rules seems to require a bar member to tell the Court if they’re disbarred elsewhere, though the Court’s website does say “Members of the Bar of the Supreme Court … should inform the Court immediately of any address, name or other status changes.” www.supremecourt.gov/filingandrul...

Supreme Court Rule 8 says that when a lawyer is disbarred by a state bar, they will be suspended from practice by the Supreme Court and ordered to show cause concerning whether they should also be disbarred from the Supreme Court bar.

Looks like they have not yet taken any action. Maybe the California decision isn’t final yet or maybe it will just take some time. Either way, feels odd for a disbarred lawyer to file a Supreme Court brief.
