He then shared that his brother, who was also a doctor, had just passed away at 59. It hit me as a reminder that you never know when or where life is going to throw something unexpected at you. Stay healthy and take care of yourselves, everyone.

The civil rights movement also started small and was scoffed at in the beginning, but it kept getting bigger and stronger. So will this. The president has to act fast, because if he doesn’t, this could mark the beginning of the end for his ugly self and everything he stands for.

So I started shining shoes for men getting off the subway in NYC. Two months later, I had enough to buy extra gear and rent it to my friends for $10 a day. Looking back, I never thanked my dad for that tough love — the “no” that pushed me to grow up and build something on my own.

What really got me was one team had two men on with nobody out for three straight innings and still could not score. I have never seen that before. Seattle finally pushed one across in the 15th inning and I dragged myself to bed. What a game. #Mariners #Baseball

With determination, I went on to help build 37 to 40 new ECPI schools, each with their own sales team. It was a challenge, but also an accomplishment that proved what’s possible when you trust yourself and keep moving forward, even against the odds.

He warned I’d have no true friends in that position, just those who wanted something. His words stayed with me: “You must be strong, and you must stand alone.” Then he wished me good luck. That advice carried me through some of the hardest times in my career.

Sometimes I wish he had been in the military when I was. That would have been fun.

Thank you, Donald “dipshit,” for the price hikes. Did no one explain to him that Americans are the ones stuck paying for his taxes and policies?

And while we’re on it has anyone else noticed how prices keep going up? I just bought my favorite coffee, and it was $8 more than the last time.
