I'd love to tear into this but it's for friends.

My Sourdough starter warmed up well, was really active, and enough for more than two loaves.

Maybe tonight.

The dough doubled quickly so I didn't wait to bake. This is Hefezopf a German Sweet Bread.

Another loaf in the oven. I've got to feed my starter before I can start the next loaf.
I respect the bakers that use tubs for their starters and dough.

Overnight proofing and overnight feeding. More baking tomorrow.

This Sourdough loaf looks great and smells great. My starter is almost ready for the next loaf. I do have takers for extra loaves.

I think this starter is good enough to make a loaf of Regular Sourdough.

Finally, good starter growth.

The main problem with ballistic equations with variable drag is that there are no closed-form solutions so estimation is required. Good estimation methods exist.
In simulations processing time is important so simplifications are helpful.
I've got this idea!

The house smells great.

Whole wheat loaves, oven ready. 40-45 minutes.

A bread recipe from 1976 scribbled on pajama paper.
Time to bake some Whole Wheat bread.

Fun with Ballistics: Using the G1 & G7 reference standard tables I linearly interpolated between the Drag coefficients, using Mach numbers, in the first pass.
I haven't adjusted air density for humidity and made a simplification for the surface area subject to vertical air drag.
More reading to do.

When is it going to happen?
September 17, 2025 at 1:27 AM
Before the egg wash, and after baking. I am waiting for the loaf to cool before slicing instead of just tearing into it while it's hot.

Yeast mix, Hefezopf dough, Sourdough starter.

Sourdough Day #3
Fed my new starter for the first time.
Everything seems normal so far.

My youngest son liked the smell in the house so tried this German Sweet Bread for the first time. He asked me to make another loaf.

Fresh yeast after 5 minutes. Much, much better then the old yeast (BB 10/2022) I was trying to use up.
September 1, 2025 at 2:32 PM
Planning on baking Hefezopf or Challah in the morning.

Maybe a hammer will fall from the sky and smash someone.
