What you’ve suggested as using logic is anything but and that’s not what I’m saying. Read all exchanges to get to what I’m saying or piss off as I won’t be repeating myself in a subject I don’t give a fuck about

Made the plot field. If you don’t know that they’ve actually made the playoffs every year for the last decade or so following 2 cup wins, then why use them as a dumb example. That’s the point, they won 2 cups, then they started declining but were still competitive
November 12, 2025 at 10:41 PM
So then It actually comes down to skilled management, not deep pockets. I don’t actually understand the argument you’re trying to make, so salary cap is a bad thing? Look at European soccer leagues, you have salary limits and relegation.
November 12, 2025 at 10:18 PM
They also have the biggest salary. Take that winnigest manager and put him in a.Small market team and we’ll talk. Look at the NHL - throughout the season, the level of play, how fans actually watch down to the wire because of how close things are. Because of the cap no team gets stacked …

Will outliers happen, will some asshole deflate balls, will there be spectacular and unfortunate injuries that sink a season yes to all of it. Having a cap is still better than not, because then it would become even more skewed. Nobody managed to repeat Patriots run. Improbable not impossible

I would suggest we end it here, as we are getting nowhere and I generally try to respond to every reply I get, even though his topic is of little regard to me personally. I got into it to voice my opinion that it’s not competitive enough for my taste.
November 12, 2025 at 6:53 PM
The salary cap is an issue, the product on the field is another issue. With 240 characters it’s not exactly possible to write a thesis. Viewership declined because games were long and boring, so they made some changes to speed them up.

November 12, 2025 at 6:39 PM
Viewership declined by 32% between 2019/2020 so the question is, is it back to where it was pre 2019. But those are just my opinions, no reason to back down from them now is there. You like it and I don’t, you watch it and I won’t. That’s the beauty of freedom of choice.
November 12, 2025 at 6:39 PM
And yet the point I’m making is about the entire season rather than just the final. The final will mask the problems a while longer because it was exciting, by baseball standards. But ultimately, MLB is predictable and not competitive, with over 75% of the league as window dressing.
