The furore around the Captain Tom Foundation is unlikely to result in a loss of trust in charities generally, say our director @ianmacquillin.bsky.social. But it illustrates what can happen when 'amateur' leadership is left untrammelled by professional ethics and competence.
The media likes to portray these situations as a binary, with an innocent victim and a caricatured villain. But will the charity sector also suffer harm as a result of this narrative? -
