Day 764. Five hostages left, none of them alive. So close to what can be an ending, which cannot get here fast enough. Not much to do at this point but try to support the families.

It looks windy, but it's such a lovely, gentle breeze. Walking around with a sundress today. Climate change continues to be a tragedy but it continues to create such good weather*

*any time but summer

Went to see Eli Sharabi speak at a local rec center tonight, and I've read his book but truly, truly, what an absolute inspiring man. (@excited.bsky.social obvs I was thinking of you!)

Still going to rallies to support the families... from tonight: Lishay Miran-Lavi is an absolutely incredible woman and a gifted, fierce, passionate speaker, and today she started her speech with: "I can't believe I'm saying this, but Omri is at home watching the girls tonight" <3

Went to the square again this evening; close to midnight, there's no protest, just spontaneous hordes of people, press, a rush of excitement. Painting welcome signs, hanging notes, singing. I sat in the sukkah there, for the first time this holiday, and talked to a stranger. Everything is surreal.

Very pleased with the cloud quality

There are clouds in the skyyyyy and the weather is so fucking nice. Autumn's coming, winds are changing, first rain (yoreh) was the day they signed and I cannot wait for next. Winter candle scents, here I come.

news sources, but: huge, huge cheers for Witkoff, US delegation and the US president; huge boos for our PM to a degree that was (for me) mildly embarrassing; hoping for things to go smoothly and more joy amennn in the next 2 days.

Shana tova 🌸🌸🌸🤞🤞🤞🎗️ Please let this be a better, brighter, sweeter one than the previous two on a national level, and a good one on a personal level to all. Very grateful to family for an A+ holiday dinner table, samples attached

Day 687 (Sat), day 690 (this evening), someday dates will just be dates again instead of being a count. It's heartening to see how many people are showing up, but heartening doesn't help, we need decisionmakers to make the right decisions, gah

Worked until way too late today, but took an hour to walk outside near sunset and was captivated by this bird on the river which was just listening and waiting. Stalked it until it caught a tiny little fish!

Weekend included a little too much work and too little chill, but I did squeeze in some early morning beach for the first time this summer.

666. Tisha b'Av. More people showed up today, dozens of thousands. Evyatar David's siblings spoke, after the video of him that was released this weekend. Omer Wenkert spoke, and every time I hear him speak I'm utterly awed by his strength.
Please, let's there be a deal already.

This tree was dropping so many fruits at first I thought it was raining, but then I looked up and remembered fruit bats are a thing, and I don't think I've *ever* seen this many in one tree before. Is this because I've started reading DCU again.

Day 652 protest was a march to the US embassy with a plea. I hate it but if it has any chance of working
