As I understand it, the Russian Revolution (and others) was beset by an intolerance by those in power, or its aspirants, to any deviation from the central theme - which in itself was ill defined and highly fluid.

Thank you. It seems to me that Russia lost this war when they invaded Ukraine - over time defence must defeat offence, its not possible to maintain the occupation of an invaded nation.
