I was there opening day! This was the one area they let you take pictures in lol

The MOTHER 2 guardians and late game figures were surprisingly large.

Also, the sheer number of different materials used (clear resin, tiny jewelry, etc.) just to make pixel art was incredible.

Japan is really fun but coming back to a cramped hotel room is definitely a vibe.

If you’re with someone else, you really need to be comfortable with each other.

With hut stop, it was 20 hours long.

This was the highlight of my trip and will be forever remembered. 🗻

After going around the summit for a couple of hours, it was time to go back down. The journey down goes through a different path, and due to construction/maintenance it was on some very slippery gravel.

There are, surprisingly, a few buildings at the top including a post office where you can get a special stamped postcard and certificate and a shrine where you can get your goshuin stamp: a certificate that you visited the shrine. (Top right one black text: 2025-7-23, Mt. Fuji Summit)

Four hours after I left my hut, I got to the top right at sunrise. The experience was amazing, and something that simply can’t be replicated in photos.

At midnight I got up and started the 12 hour journey for real. At my hut is where the trail turned from a gravel path to just straight up climbing rocks so it’s not like you can walk/run it. However, it is super doable since nothing was bigger than knee-height at worse.
