All his books feel more like a loose collection of ideas he was interested in rather than complete, compelling stories

One of my physics teachers went on a rant about the theoretical guys doing this

I'm following less than 300 people and that's still too much for the following tab. I think there's room between "anything but chronological following" and "I bet this random slop will make you mad and/or racist"

Watching the show where everyone on earth loses their personal autonomy: "this is a big win for personal autonomy!"

A lot of this education is about learning to learn. Finding applicable value in seemingly unrelated areas is kinda the whole point. If you just want job training there's better ways.

Can also find cheaper and faster ways to get these GE credits if you feel you've already mastered them

His inability to understand why he's doing a tiny poetry unit in a freshman composition class is ironically the best argument for the liberal arts education he's mad at

I don't think four weeks of learning prose is the thing driving up your bill

I have to 'look both ways' like 5 times to get to a small convenience store that's a few minute walk from my house and started thinking "didn't we do this whole civilization thing specifically so we could stop constantly looking over our shoulder for something huge about to murder us?"

This makes your "average output" criticism worse though. You've simply constrained the average output to a smaller subset of the data. Instead of the average author you made an average version of a specific author. Where is the novelty that actually creates value?

Weird how the only actual usage seems to be ruining stock image sites, embarrassing your newspaper, poor quality engagement bait, junior level coding (that sounds sustainable and scaleable!) and ads people think are cheap and subtly disturbing.

Still waiting for blockchain to be in everything btw

Made me crack open my I ching for the first time this decade

You captured a rare feeling. Loved every minute

It's actually more boring than that. All they did was bump two people from the regular, already planned 6 month ISS mission that went up two months later. Their ride down has been docked with them for the last 6 months

If a "foodie" tells me they don't like the McDonald's french fry I know they're just putting on airs

The scriptwriter, Ed Neumeier, read it. ST was made because Verhoeven wanted to work with Neumeier and Phil Tippet again since they all liked doing Robocop together.

Bummer Neumeier is basically forgotten even though the fascism angle started with him
