Germany's guilt toward Israel is not diminishing; it is growing. This is due to blind solidarity with a state that is increasingly behaving like former Nazi Germany. There are enough monuments for Israel in Germany.

The USA's initiative to upgrade the economy, coupled with the simultaneous downgrading of human rights and the dismantling of old alliances, is causing increased arms spending and a focus on economic issues in the EU. There is hardly any money left for environmental protection programmes.

This is just another rhetorical manoeuvre by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to belittle the EU and portray it as a 'chaotic mess'. This, by the way, is a Politico article from 26 February 2025.‘Scheduling issues’ scupper Rubio-Kallas meeting in Washington - www.politico.eu/article/kaja...

Among other things, tariffs are responsible for the contraction in the US economy. But not exclusively, and perhaps not primarily. The fickleness and short-lived nature of American policy statements is leading to new alliances between other democracies and thus to new trade alliances.

Tariffs and the exceptionalism of the US are accelerating the processes that will take place anyway as a result of digitalisation and artificial intelligence. The end of work will lead to new social values. As a consequence, this will probably also lead to completely new 'monetary systems'.

Germany votes today. If the election goes well, it will be a coalition of two parties: The pro-business CDU and the social labour party SPD. If this happens, Europe would be able to stick together in the areas of armaments and research and act as a bulwark against the current US government.

DT's initial statements should not be taken too seriously. It's always the same trick with DT: 1. make massive threats & then negotiate. There is only one thing Trump is no longer offering: support based on ethical principles. Perhaps people are shocked because they have been educated by Hollywood.

It's another step in the WHO's drive to monetise research by indirectly outsourcing it to US companies. In addition, and at the same time, the loss of independent validation of results in biomedicine, which in turn plays into the hands of biomedical companies.

Unfortunately, America is increasingly becoming a role model for other countries, some of which are still democratic. When the judiciary loses power/respect, initiated by the legislature itself (or influencers), this disrespect has an impact on society. What could be the consequences?
