Given the state of relations between Trump and Europe, and Trump’s latest commitment to only provide limited support to Europe (for what what’s worth - he’s normally threatening his ‘friends’ with invasion) why are there still American bases in the UK and elsewhere in Europe? Time to leave.

I wonder, how safe does it feel being in the UK without being in Europe? I guess you’re fine unless you elect someone Trump or Putin don’t like.

Trump - it’s hard to imagine Europe having a less reliable friend. He’s the friend who’d come to dinner with your ex wife and leave with your current one. Only less honourable.

Worth remembering that whilst the USA is big, with a population of 374m, Europe alone is bigger at 744m. Add in our allies and our combined market is much bigger. Our combined GDP is also far bigger.
